At the end of November, HSCL hosted two workshops for the parents of Junior and Senior Infant parents. These workshops gave tips and suggestions about ways to support their child as they learn to read. If you would like a copy of the handouts, please call/ text Anne-Marie on 085-8120807

The main tips from the talk were:

1. Include a book in their Christmas stocking fillers

2. Check out www.starfall.com (great resource for teaching phonics)

3. Join the local Ballyfermot library with your child

4. Talk to us or your child’s teacher if you have ANY concerns about their reading

5. Read a bed-time story to your child
